Queen’s Wharf

Queen’s Wharf

A landmark riverside precinct that transforms Brisbane’s historic core into a vibrant destination for living, leisure and culture, uniting world-class design, heritage renewal and public life along the city’s riverfront.

Queen’s Wharf is one of the largest mixed-use developments in Australia and a defining project for Queensland’s capital. Developed by Destination Brisbane Consortium, the $3.6 billion precinct reimagines the city’s river edge with a world-class integrated resort combining hospitality, residential, retail and public realm in one unified destination.

Cottee Parker led the architectural vision through to construction documentation, coordinating a global consultant team and navigating complex planning, heritage and delivery requirements. As Lead Architect, we partnered with Destination Brisbane Consortium, Multiplex and government stakeholders to shape a design that balanced commercial goals with civic vision at every stage.

The project comprises four towers rising above a seven-storey podium and a five-level basement. Together, they accommodate more than 770 hotel keys across three brands — Rosewood, Dorsett and The Star Grand — alongside 670 residential apartments, 7,000 sqm of dining, 6,000 sqm of luxury retail, and multiple levels of gaming and entertainment.

Queen’s Wharf achieved a 6-Star Green Star Communities rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, recognising its world leadership in sustainable precinct design, environmental performance and social value. From the outset, sustainability principles were embedded into every layer of the design, from energy-efficient systems and passive cooling strategies to long-term governance and community connectivity.

Beyond its architectural impact, Queen’s Wharf has generated major economic and social value for Brisbane. It supported thousands of jobs during construction and now hundreds during operation, it anchors the city’s tourism economy and it has created more than twelve football fields of new public space. The project brings people back to the riverfront and cements Brisbane’s place as a global destination for entertainment, hospitality and urban living.
